Scripture Quest Book 1
Embarking on a Multi-Age Bible Study Journey
Overview
This Bible study guide is a 3-year adventure through the entirety of Scripture, with Year 1 launching us into 36 weeks of study across 22 foundational books. In Year 1, we’ll travel from the creation of the world in Genesis to the establishment of the early church and Paul’s teachings in Acts, Romans, 1 Corinthians, and 2 Corinthians. The journey includes the Pentateuch (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy), which lays the groundwork of God’s relationship with His people; the historical narratives (Joshua, Judges, Ruth, 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings, 2 Kings, 1 Chronicles, 2 Chronicles), detailing Israel’s conquest, monarchy, and exile; and the four Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John), revealing the life and mission of Jesus Christ. We’ll conclude with the New Testament’s early chapters (Acts, Romans, 1 Corinthians, 2 Corinthians), exploring the church’s growth and theology. The final 14 weeks revisit these books as review, reinforcing their lessons and themes.
Our goals for this study are:
- Understanding God’s Story: To connect the Bible’s narrative—from creation and covenant to redemption and renewal—into a unified whole.
- Growing Faith: To strengthen trust in God’s character and promises as revealed across these books.
- Fostering Love for Scripture: To inspire a lifelong passion for reading, discussing, and living out God’s Word.
This multi-age approach brings together five learning levels—Grades 1-3 (ages 6-9), Grades 4-6 (ages 9-12), Grades 7-9 (ages 12-15), Grades 10-12 (ages 15-18), and Adults—allowing families, groups, or churches to study side-by-side, with content tailored to each stage of comprehension. Years 2 and 3 will complete the Bible, covering the remaining books (e.g., Ezra, Psalms, Galatians), building on Year 1’s foundation over the full 3-year cycle.
